Northeast Lakes Adventure Ride

Self-Supported RideGroup Ride (Drop)

Self-supported group ride: Northeast Lakes Adventure Ride, led by @robofet, Behind Bars Bicycle Shop Ambassador.

This 50 mile, self-supported, mixed terrain bicycle ride takes us into the northeast suburbs, featuring lakes, lakes, and more lakes! The route is mostly paved, with a couple miles of smooth gravel, on bike paths and plenty of road sections.

The roads in this area are generally good for riding, with decent shoulders and 30mph speed limits. Riders must be comfortable riding with car traffic. Whether you're training for a big event, or just looking for new places to explore, this area is sure to become your new favorite place to ride.

When: Thursday, August 20th. Meet at 5:00 PM, roll at 5:15 PM.

Start and Finish: Behind Bars Bicycle Shop, 208 13th Ave NE.

Distance: 50 miles. Pace: 12–14 mph.

This is a drop ride — there is no lead or sweep keeping the group together. You must be able to navigate the route on your own. We will try to keep a pace group going at 12–14 mph, depending on terrain and weather.

Be prepared! Carry everything you need for an adventure ride: Helmet, water, snacks, lock, lights, tools, spare tube, and rain jacket / clothing. There is a convenience store at mile 22, and a couple water / bathroom stops along the way.
